Skypod cn tower8/16/2023 The area is quite small (just 256 sq ft) and there is no queuing system so it’s a bit of a free for all and the lighting is so dim so that taking a decent photo is really hard with the contrast of the bright daylight outside. The lower level has two attractions – the Glass Floor with clear views all the way to the ground below and the Outdoor Sky Terrace where you can really feel the breeze! It might make you feel a little more unsafe on this level, but the outdoor terrace is completely covered with mesh panelling and the glass floor is strong enough to hold the weight of 35 moose!Įven out of season the Glass Floor was absolutely packed with people standing, laying and playing around on it so don’t get your hopes up for getting a great photo. The entire floor is inside, for those of you that feel a bit wobbly about heights. The higher, LookOut Level boasts two walls of floor to ceiling windows which are pretty incredible. General admission tickets gain you access to two observation levels – 1122ft and 1136ft above the ground. However, the view from the CN Tower is hands down the best view of a city I’ve seen so far – due to it’s insane height (it held the record for the tallest free standing building for over 30 years until the Burj Khalifa was built in 2007!) it towers above the vast array of other tall buildings in Toronto, leaving the view completely clear for miles and miles. The extra $12 might not seem like a lot, but general admission to the CN Tower is already $36 per adult (approximately £21) so it’s on the pricey side, especially if there’s a group of you. We tried to look for opinion online, but we couldn’t get a definitive answer so the only way to find out was to give it a shot! So… SkyPod vs General Admission at CN Tower – which is better?ĭespite our trip being at the end of September/Early October the day we set aside to go up the CN Tower was glorious sunshine and clear blue skies – unbelievable luck! We did visit out of season though so there were barely any queues, but I have heard it can take a couple of hours during the Summer. Are you into heights, and being in one of the highest obersavtions decks built in the world? It is rediculously high up.A question we were asking ourselves during our trip to Toronto was whether it was worth it to pay the additional $12 to get access to the SkyPod at the CN Tower. *** Food: you CAN bring your own, and eat it whenever/wherever, just no alcohol. Not to mention, the staff is the friendliest at these hours. Crowds are so small at these times, there is a good chance you might have your own private elevator, and never have to wait in line for anything. *** Travelling on a budget and want to skip lines? Do this!! You must visit the tower between 9am and 10am. See the menu at Guest Services or online. Note: Minimum entree must be pruchased to qualify. (skypod is NOT included, and will cost more money). Not only will you get the experience of the floor to ceiling windows, a rotating floor, fine dinning, private elevators, you will ALSO get COMPLIMENTARY PASSES to the glass floor and observation deck. This is another great option, as the restaurant has its own elevators with short to no lines (5 min. 5- Make a reservation for brunch or dinner at the 360 restaurant at the top of the tower in advance. (zoo, museums, science centre) 4-Buy your tickets online/tour operator, which will ONLY skip the box office line up. Great value if you are visiting multiple Toronto destinations. But you will be stuck in all other lines. (will be stuck in all other lines, but best value for dollar) 3-Buy a CityPass Booklet INSIDE at guest services/offsite to skip the Box office line up. 2-Line up at the Box Office, buy an Express/Total Tower ticket which will ONLY place you in the fastest elevator up line. Options: 1-Buy a Premier ticket INSIDE at Guest Services (which is not advertised, and most expensive) and you can skip ALL lines, receive an escort, and preferencial treatment. ALWAYS ask how long the line times are at the box office/guest services. They are: box office, security, elevators up, elevator to skypod, elevators down. *** There are basically 5 lines you'll encounter on your way up or down. Depending on how much money you want spend, you can cut lines and times down. During peak holiday travel periods multiple lines can reach lengths of OVER 1 HOUR or more. However like all popular tourist destinations, the more your know about a destination the better the experience. This attraction is top notch and worth the money.
